Did you pick up any bargains Jon? I was at the Sportfish open day all day, so couldn't check it out, unfortunately.

Always sad to see local tackle shops close, as they can be great for the latest information and of course, the obvious place to get a fishing permit.
It's not just the small businesses who are suffering though, with Bennets of Sheffield, and recently Mullarkeys going down.
But i have to admit, to being an eshopping angler for the last few years....

Must agree, its a shame to see a good tackle shop go under, good places for a bit of local knowledge, always helpful if your a visitor to a new area and planning an outing whether it be Coarse, Sea or Game angling.
Beats me how a tackle shop in my local town can manage to stay open, never see anyone in it, used to stock a good range of fly angling/tying stuff, pretty much supplies to the coarse fraternity these days, could it be a sign of the times where Game Angling is getting just a tad to expensive for the ordinary man on the street, a victim of its own success.
