Depends on casting style really, but for night fishing I'd suggest something medium-fast action (I prefer slightly faster but not a poker) about 10 foot, 7 or 8 weight. For £200 you should be able to get a nice rod but try before you buy if possible -
As T7 rightly says; try before you buy is key, whenever possible. What may suit one may not suit another.

The 10ft 6inch version. Awesome! Seriously. Light, not too stiff but with plenty of backbone. Really impressed and great value for money. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Colour takes a bit of getting use to, but that's about the only negative.
I was using #8 lines through it, and it handled/loaded well with them.
