Perhaps more for the salmon angler than the sea-trout angler, but a nice little tip nonetheless.
I tend to dress most of my flies without the coneheads ready attached for one simple reason.
Get yourself some tungtsen or copper conheads in a variety or sizes, weights and colours. Then buy some tube fly liner. They can all be found here:

Then 'line' the conheads, as you would line the centre of a bottle tube or slipstream tube.
By doing this you can just put the conehead onto your nylon, the lining will stop it from cutting the line, and you have a changeable and versatile fly in seconds.
People think that the conhead will just fly around when casting. Not so. It basically stays at the business end, as that's where the force takes it. Also, you can put a small stop-knot above it if you like to stop it from sliding around.
You may also put 2-3 conheads on at one time should you require the additional weight.
