I need a few new eyes and hook keeper replaced on an old Sage XP. Anyone recommend some one local to me (Carmarthen Area) that you would trust with one of your rods?

Sorry David, haven't a clue. Perhaps Dai Jones or Cap could help you with this, as I know that they're both into rod building etc. and could pass on some advice if nothing else.

A lot of rod builders do not like stripping down old rods and replacing guides as they can build a new rod from scratch in much the same time and make more cash.

Sooooo, if you can tie a fly, whipping a few guides on to your rod should not be a problem. Better still replace them all it will look so much better.
