  • swift feathers

Hi all my daughter brought me home a dead swift this afternoon that she found because she thought I might be able to utilise it's feathers. Does anyone know of any patterns that could tied using this bird. This is probably quite a rare opportunity to get some feathers from this particular species and would be interested in any help with it.

    Many thanks

    Hi there mintylad,

Swifts are a fully protected bird under the wildlife and countryside act 1981, so I'm assuming the use of their feathers is restricted under the same law, even dead ones.
You can find out by doing a search for (swift, legal status)
    Hope this helps.
