Whilst having just visited the Fly Fair, a couple of flies here that I tied at one of the many stalls, I stopped by at the Casting for Recovery stand and asked if I could possibly tie a couple of patterns as I havn't made one for at least the past 3 years.
The patterns are very simple Spider type, tied on Partridge Spider Hooks size 14.
Like I said a long while since ive attempted a fly so Comments, criticism Positive and negative invited.
1st fly (Left) for use in a spinner fall.
Body, red silk and Magic Wool spun sparsely in a loop of fine copper wire and wound over in open turns.
Hackle, Grey Underwing feather from a Grouse wing.
2nd Fly (Right) for use as a general Olive.
Body, Flat gold tinsel and Magic Wool spun sparsely in a loop of fine copper wire and wound over in open turns.
Hackle, Grey Feather from underwing of a Starling.
