  • Bann Shrimp

One of the many hundred Irish shrimp paterns that utilise pheasant breast feathers as a tail or more to the point the shrimps feelers. More of the stuff that I have been tying up for the Dee.

    The Dressing

Hook: Kamasan B380 Low Water Salmon Size 14
Thread: Prrimrose at rear, black at front
Tag and rib: Veniard Peral Micro Glint
Rear hackle: Doubled and wound pheasant red breast feather
Rear body: No 10 yellow Glo Brite floss
Middle hackle: A doubled and wound orange dyed cock hackle
    Front body: Black floss
Carpace: A pair of jungle cock nails tied 'roof' or 'tent' style
Front hackle: Silver badger hen hackle

A little sparkle at the harris end makes it a Bann Special

    Great fly

Very nice!! and well tied.. This shrimp fly is my favorite of them all and has taken more salmon for me than any other pattern.
