Mobile materials

I’d like to tie a shrimp fly. Can anyone suggest a more mobile material to use in place of buck-tail ?

Hi Heron,

either try squirrel tail, or try something like arctic fox, where you can draw away the softer underfur and be left with some really nice long, thin fibres.
