The canoe lobby have all but succeeded in gaining full and unrestricted access to all Welsh rivers. Please put pen to paper and write to your local AM and MP and express your concern at this danger to our fisheries.
We already have rouge canoeists both paddling and walking through redds. This will have a devastating effect on our fisheries.Mating fish have been scared off their redds and redd areas badly damaged. It is probably through ignorance rather than ill intent. I get so much pleasure fro the rivers I visit I can not argue that canoeists or anybody else for that matter should be denied such pleasure but unrestricted access. This is beyond the pale and will damage our fisheries.
If you require a "model" letter to use as a basis for your own I will be please to PM yo a copy or indeed email you one if you let me have your email details.
