I went to Bransford game fisheries this weekend to get a new jungle cock cape and was sad to hear that the owner, Ron Taylor, is having to sell the business on age/health grounds. I thought I'd put a note on the forum as the quality of the jungle cock capes is amazing. The ungraded capes start at £30 and increase as follows: grade C £35, B £40, A £50, Super Quality £60.
Ron is also selling off a batch of good quality domestic cock capes for £5 each (or 5 for £20). I've been tying small klinkhamers with them today and was very pleased with the length and density of fibres on the hackle feathers.
If, like me, you're lucky enough to be within driving distance I'd highly recommend a visit. Ron is a true gent.
